Educational Model

adsWe reinforce inquiry as the foundation for an educational programme whose essence is interrelated knowledge, the development of an intercultural awareness and communication skills.

We promote assimilation of universal values within everyday experiences, a keen interest to learn, critical thinking, development of self esteem and creativity.

In this context, students work within eight academic areas in workshop:

  • Language A (Spanish)
  • Sciences
  • Humanities
  • Arts
  • Language B (English/French)
  • Mathematics
  • Technology
  • Physical Educations and/or interdisciplinary projects eight academic areas

We build functional environments. Classrooms are designed, built, distributed and allocated as per subject-matter to ensure that inside these environments a positive and constructive interaction among students, teachers, content, materials and resources appropriate for each class subject is always preserved.01

Science and Computing Labs provide all resources necessary to enrich with first-hand experience all theoretical learning through base practice and supplementary exercises to round up all which was previously learned in classrooms.

Each workshop is designed by the Teacher and consists of three key steps: 1) group work, 2) small group work and 3) individual work,

We seek that students become responsible of their own learning progress, learn to evaluate information in a critical manner and link all content across the various subjects.

The style of good behavior which we foster at Colegio Internacional Terranova is rules by the Document entitled "Guide for Our Students, Parents and Alumni", based on the attributes outlined by our community profile.

In December 2013, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) granted official certification to offer the Middle Years Programme (MYP) at Colegio Internacional Terranova.
