Philosophy

Aware of our commitment to contribute to the formation of a more just and harmonious society, and mindful of the current global need to promote a value-based education, Colegio Internacional Terranova offers an educational environment that encourages the resurgence of universal values within its community which includes students, teachers, parents and administrative staff.

We acknowledge that education is one of the main means in achieving a positive transformation in the world that helps to diminish poverty levels, ignorance, exclusion, oppression and war.

We offer a full educational path from the age of two years old to high school with the aim of providing continuity in the educational process. During a student’s time at this institution, our citizens of the world develop a positive attitude, awareness and commitment that will drive them to face life with enthusiasm and dedication.

Mission Statement and IB Learner Pofile

Colegio Internacional Terranova seeks to be the fertile ground whereupon each universal value is cultivated within our school community in order to nurture a positive outlook in the face of life’s challenges, setbacks and circumstances. The fruits will undoubtedly be principled, conscious and responsible citizens, able to make a life-long commitment to the task of spreading the seeds of knowledge, a harmonious coexistence and respect toward the environment and all human beings. To harvest, then, the reality of living in a better world.

Introduction to the history of the school

“Terranova” stands for unknown, recently discovered, never before explored, a new world to be known: a better planet.

Within the educational scope, “Terranova” signifies all cumulative knowledge and skills which lie ahead for students and what they have yet “to discover”. “Terranova” is the hope of achieving a new world, a renewal, since it is necessary to plant the seed in students for peace, getting along with others and respect for the environment and all human beings.

The term “International” defines the main characteristic of the school, as it is our aim to develop citizens of the world; individuals who are open-minded, who respect opinions, values and traditions of other people and cultures; who are aware of local and global issues and are committed to taking action for their environment and the world.

Mission

To contribute, within a framework of universal values, to the formation of citizens of the world, forging an educational space that favors a positive attitude towards life, a commitment to the environment, and the development of individual skills.

Vision
